Rising Entertainment Star Defeats Deadly Disease Through Music! Overcoming life-threatening illness, youth entertainer/author – Aaron Ableman – brings renowned Children’s Hospital program to Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai
Aaron Ableman, aka A-Natural, of Oakland, CA is making headlines these days with a celebrity-backed children’s hospital initiative, entitled Imagination Heals. This initiative delivers award-winning inspirational music to hospitalized children. Ableman believes we need to support every child’s natural genius, imagination and creativity in making the world a better place. Years ago, when Aaron found himself hospitalized for several months with a life-threatening case of typhoid fever, he looked back at his childhood and found the answer. At eight years old, his mother inspired him to sing and rap to sick orphans in war-torn Nicaraguan orphanages and for hospice patients in public health clinics. Recalling how his songs uplifted the patients, amidst the deathly haze of disease, Ableman used music to find his way back to health. Upon a miraculous recovery from a so-called incurable disease, Ableman emerged with a newfound purpose to use music and storytelling to heal children.
“Facing a fatal diagnosis, all I could do was ask for my headphones!” says Ableman. “Something about the music transported me to other worlds in which I danced with MJ, sang with Louis Prima and skanked with Bob Marley.”
In the decade since his recovery, Ableman has become like a musical Patch Adams for tens of thousands of children around the world! While serving a unique version of music therapy with underprivileged kids throughout the Americas, in Northern Canada, Brazil, India, and Haiti, Aaron developed the inspiring story that is now called Pacha’s Pajamas.
Pacha’s Pajamas, Ableman’s award-winning children’s musical, is the first offering of the newly launched children’s hospital initiative called Imagination Heals. Imagination Heals brings transformative entertainment – including albums and books, and performances – to children in hospitals across the United States and soon in Canada. A full-length children’s pop musical, Pacha’s Pajamas is the story of a little girl whose magical pajamas whisk her away to imaginary worlds where she has wild and comedic adventures with the characters on her pjs. In the first story of the series, Pacha journeys to an epic music festival organized for (and by) plants and animals.
The Imagination Heals program recently received its pilot sponsorship through a generous donation from A Forever Recovery and Best Drug Rehabilitation. After the national launch at the Beverly Hilton in LA on February 22nd, the media is abuzz with such a worthy and heartfelt cause.
The program is bringing the award-winning Pacha’s Pajamas album, children’s book, live performances and/or celebrity visits to hospitals across North America including Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Oakland, and Miami. The Pacha’s Pajamas album recently won Best Children’s Album (People’s Choice) from the Independent Music Awards and the Parent’s Choice Recommended Award. The album features 55 artists spanning four generations including Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, Cheech Marin, Talib Kweli, Majora Carter, Lester Chambers, Agape Youth Choir, a dozen youth stars including Lil JaXe and Ta’Kaiya Blaney, and the author of Pacha’s Pajamas, Aaron Ableman (aka A-Natural).
Aaron Ableman and special guests will perform for a live studio audience and
a closed circuit television broadcast at the Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai
Hospital in New York City on Friday, September 27th, 2013. Special guests include Devyn Tyson, a twelve year old singer from Brooklyn and the Grammy nominated duo, Les Nubians, both of whom are featured on the forthcoming Pacha’s Pajamas Volume II album.

About A Forever Recovery
The A Forever Recovery program is an open-ended drug and alcohol program that can get clients off to a great start, and for the first time, give them a solid foundation in recovery they can believe in. Not every treatment works for every client. Some people are very receptive to 12-step principles, whereas others are more comfortable within their Christian faith. Cognitive approaches have excellent successes, whereas others embrace a more holistic approach. The bottom line is that there is no single approach towards recovery that works well for everyone… until now. http://aforeverrecovery.com
